I'm not really much of a cook to be honest, but myself and a friend thought we would try this class out as it was recommended by the home-stay I was in. It was a morning class in Aug 2010, Wayan picks you up early and takes you to a local market and explain the different foods for sale and how the market is ran which is really interesting. We were then taken to his village and given a bit of a tour of Laplapan. The cooking class itself takes place inside the home of Wayan and Puspa. Unfortunately we never got to meet Puspa as she was away at family ceremony. The cooking itself was extremely well run and we made around 7-8 different dishes which tasted great.
Wayan made us feel very welcome throughout the day and explained to us a lot about the Balinese culture that you wouldn't always find out. The guy is a legend. The whole session was a real experience and Paon Bali Cooking Class have an excellent set up and a genuine passion for what they do. A must for when you are in Bali.
